Ordering

How to add products to my cart?

Select the product, type in the quantity you want to order, and click on the “Add to Cart” button on the product page. This sends the product to your Shopping Cart. Continue searching and adding to your cart until you have all the needed products. Finally, click the shopping cart image at the top of the page to access the contents of your Shopping Cart.

The products in your cart will then be saved until you check out. Then, you may proceed to checkout or continue shopping. When all the items you wish to purchase have been added to your cart, click on the shopping cart icon at the top of the web page. You will then see the contents of your cart and can proceed to checkout.

If you are a first-time customer, you will be required to populate shipping and billing information. You may also be required to select a shipping method. In addition, you will have the option to review your order and payment method prior to confirming your checkout.

If you don't want to purchase a particular item, click the Remove button under the product name. The item will be removed from your current Shopping Cart.

How do I place government and institutional POs?

Megatop is a procurement source for educational and healthcare institutions, governmental organizations, non-governmental associations, the military, law enforcement, and fire & rescue. We make the purchasing process simple for our institutional customers, and anytime we receive any specials or promotions, we will post them on the site for you to take advantage of.

We offer the following incentives:

  • Discounted and special pricing on many of the items to qualifying institutions
  • Purchase Orders Welcomed
  • Net 30 Terms for qualifying Institutions
  • Credit / Procurement Cards Accepted

Please note - we do not accept Purchase Orders for orders under $100.00. All orders under $100.00 must be pre-paid with a check or credit card.

Quoted prices are good for fourteen (14) days unless otherwise specified. We cannot use coupons with volume discounts in the quote. If prices of items in the quoted order have gone down, the cost of your order will reflect the new lower price. If prices have increased, we will honor the lower price as long as the quote is not expired or voided and the product is still available for sale. Please note that we cannot apply a promo code to a quote.

 

Educational Sales

Megatop recognizes the importance and value of our academic customers, and we are the Megatop source for future engineers who need quality products, competitive pricing, and excellent service.

We are pleased to provide open credit accounts to schools, universities, institutions, and educational non-profit organizations.

Once you have established a line of credit with Megatop, you are welcome to continue sending your Purchase Orders via email, provided your account is current, and there are no past-due invoices.

 

Applying for Credit

Apply for an online account with our simple form.

If your institution qualifies for a Net 30 credit, email your authorized (must be signed) school Purchase Order to Megatop. Some teachers include a print-out of their online shopping cart for incomplete unpaid orders and attach it to the approved school PO, which helps ensure accuracy when entering the order. We process orders within 1 - 5 business days, and an invoice will be emailed to your organization (Net 30 terms apply). If we have any questions, we will contact you.

 

Government Orders

We accept Government and Institutional purchase orders and can process RFQ requests. Please choose the Pay with Purchase Order option during checkout, or you can email your RFQ or Purchase Order to sales@megatop.com. We will respond to your request promptly with a price quote, product information, and shipping options.

 

Military Orders

We require an official Purchase Order directly from your Military Unit for military orders of restricted products. For a limited number of restricted items that are for sale to Military Personnel Only, we will need at least two of the following documents to fulfill an order:

  • email sent from a .mil address;
  • agency letterhead specifically requesting or authorizing the purchase of a said item;
  • copy of the customer's military ID (military contractor IDs are NOT accepted);
  • billing and shipping address indicates that the item will be shipped to an authorized military unit.

Law Enforcement Orders

For a limited number of restricted items that are for sale to Law Enforcement Personnel Only, we will need at least two of the following documents to fulfill an order:

  • An email sent from a Police Department email address;
  • an agency letterhead specifically requesting or authorizing the purchase of a said item;
  • a copy of the customer's law enforcement ID;
  • billing and shipping address indicating that the item will be shipped to a law enforcement department.

For Police and Law Enforcement orders of restricted products, we require an official Purchase Order directly from your Police Department.

How can I send in a Purchase Order?

If your company meets Megatop PO requirements, you may submit your purchase via email or Megatop form. To submit your PO via Megatop form:

  1. Add the item(s) to your Shopping Cart;
  2. Select the “Pay with Purchase Order” button during checkout;
  3. Complete the form.

Upon approval, we will send you an email confirmation along with tracking once the order ships.

Purchase Orders also can be sent to us at sales@megatop.com. Please provide a written and signed purchase order by emailing a PDF image or via fax. Among other standard details, the PO should include

  • Shipping and billing address
  • Shipping method*
  • Product part number(s) and quantities
  • Unit price of each item
  • Total Amount

Existing Customers

If you have been approved for Net terms, you can get started by emailing us your Purchase Order. We will promptly process and ship your items once we have verified the order information.

New Customers

A new customer's first order must be prepaid unless the customer is a public school, college, university, hospital, government agency, or established corporation.

Please complete the Megatop credit application and follow these steps:

  1. Email your Purchase Order from your business email to sales@megatop.com or fax it to (802) 243-0232.
  2. Verify that the shipping and billing addresses are correct on the PO.
  3. Reference any quotes (if applicable).

If you’d like to apply for terms but need the item sooner, please contact us. You can also place the order online with a credit card while we review your credit application.

Upon approval of the terms, we will send an email with PO Acknowledgment (Sales Order). If we have any questions, we will call before sending the Sales Order Acknowledgment.

What to check before placing an order?

Before placing an order, please make sure to read the product description and specifications.

Pay attention that a separate item may not include accessories or components like chargers, sensors, probes, etc. If you have any doubts, please ask what's included in the product. We recommend you review the data sheets and descriptions from the manufacturer's websites.

We make every effort to provide complete and accurate descriptions of our products; however, it is the customer’s responsibility to ensure product compatibility.

Please note that manufacturers may change their product content, images, and packaging before updating this information on Megatop. Please check the product page for compatibility and technical information before placing an order. If you have any doubts, you may wish to verify all specifications on the manufacturers’ websites.

How to request a quote?

To request a quote for a single item or multiple items, please follow these steps:

  1. On the product page, click "Add To Quote";
  2. Add all desired parts and quantities to your quote list;
  3. Add your Shipping Address and target date information, as necessary;
  4. Click on the "Submit Quote Request" form for processing.

Please make sure you complete all required fields so we can generate the most accurate quote. You may edit the quantity and deadline information for any item on your quote.

We will email you the quotation as soon as possible. All details and payment instructions will be provided with the quote. You may also fill out a Request for Quote form here.

How to checkout?

When you're ready to check out, click one of the checkout buttons depending on the Payment Method and provide any required details.

You will be asked to log in to your Amazon or Apple Pay account, provide your billing information to the Credit Card processor, or complete the Purchase Order form when applying for credit terms.  New customers with different billing and shipping addresses may require additional verification. 

If you are making payments from overseas, please follow the instructions in the International Sales section. 

How to review and submit an order?

Please review your Order Summary and make adjustments if necessary before submitting it. When you are ready, click the “Submit Order” button. Once you place your order, we will send you an Order Confirmation email within minutes. 

This email is your sales receipt. Please check your spam or filtered mail folders or contact us for assistance if you don’t receive our email. Once your package ships, we will send you another email Shipping Acknowledgement with a tracking number. If you encounter difficulty or receive an error message at any point, please contact us for details.

Important Note: We cannot make any changes to orders once an order has been placed. However, if a mistake was made, please email us at sales@megatop.com, live chat with us, or call (888) MEG-ATOP immediately after discovering an error in the order, and we will do our best to try to assist you.

Where can I find my order number?

Your order number can be found in the Order Confirmation email you receive after placing your order. If you have a Megatop Account, please log into your account and view Order History. If you didn't receive your Order Confirmation email, check your Shopping Cart to ensure your order was submitted. You may also want to check your Spam folder for the email.

Will I receive an order confirmation?

You will receive an Order Confirmation through email. After your order has shipped, you will receive an emailed Shipping Acknowledgement showing the details. Check your Account Preferences to ensure we have your email address on file.

What are the requirements for Purchase Orders?

Purchase orders with Credit terms are accepted from public schools, colleges, universities, hospitals, government agencies, the military, law enforcement, and established corporations. Net terms offer our customers the flexibility to pay by business check, wire transfer, or ACH/EFT electronic payment up to 30 days after the product ships. 

If you do not fall under the categories listed above, we may not be able to offer credit terms for the first order, and you need to use other payment methods. However, you may reapply for credit terms again after you have established an order history with Megatop. Credit terms for businesses are granted on a case-by-case basis and are subject to credit rating review and approval. Qualifying companies can apply for Net terms online.

How do I use my Tax Exemption or Resale Certificates?

Tax-exempt customers and resellers must provide Megatop with a copy of a state resale certificate, also known as a sales tax exemption certificate, which proves that you are purchasing items for tax-exempt purposes.

The tax exemption certificate must be valid and complete. The organization or individual name and the billing or shipping address on order must match the name and address on the certificate.

Please upload your certificate at checkout. You may also email us your valid certificate at sales@megatop.com or fax it to (802) 243-0232. Please mark your fax or email subject with 'Tax Exemption Request.' Please include your name, Megatop sales order number, and contact information.

Once you provide your resale or tax-exempt certificate, it will be kept on file and used against your future orders until the certificate is expired if state laws allow this use of the certificate provided. If we keep your resale or tax-exempt certificate on file, no sales tax will be added during checkout, providing the certificate covers the ship-to-state. Make sure you are logged in to your account before purchasing.

After your documents have been processed and accepted, you will receive a refund in the amount of the tax charged. Please let us know should your tax-exempt status changes.

In some cases, when Megatop does not have nexus in the delivery state, and we drop ship an order directly from the manufacturer's warehouse, and the manufacturer is required to collect sales tax in the ship-to-state, then Megatop will also ask for a resale certificate or tax exemption from your company.

Where do you charge Sales Tax?

Megatop charges sales tax on orders shipping to a number of states where we are required to collect tax. We provide an estimated tax rate at checkout when confirming your order. The estimated tax amount may be updated to the actual amount once your order is completed.

In case Megatop collects no tax on your order, you still have an obligation to pay the tax directly when you file your state taxes. You are responsible for contacting your local tax administration regarding taxes you may owe in connection with your purchase on the Megatop website. 

The tax rate applied to your order will generally be the combined state and local rates for the address to which your order is delivered. We are required to collect tax on shipping charges when applicable. Use tax is a sales tax that state governments impose on consumers who do not pay sales tax at the time of purchase. We do not collect use tax from customers. Instead, customers pay use tax directly to the applicable state.

Items sold by Megatop that are shipped to destinations in the following states may be subject to tax:

Hawaii also does not have sales tax. However, the state does impose a general excise tax (GET) that’s similar to sales tax on every transaction.

Instead of sales tax, New Mexico has a gross receipts tax (GRT) that sellers impose on customers in the state.

The five states that do not have sales tax are

  • Alaska
  • Delaware
  • Montana
  • New Hampshire
  • Oregon

Please note that Megatop withholds sales tax as required by law; the laws are subject to change. We reserve the right to change this policy if necessary.

What are availability and lead time?

Availability and lead time may vary from item to item. Our website only provides stock information for some products. Once your order is processed, you will receive an email confirmation with your estimated ship dates. Product availability is subject to change without prior notice.

All in-stock orders for which payment has been approved are shipped within 1 to 3 business days, Monday - Friday. If your order contains special products, we will contact you with the availability estimates for those products. If the item is out of stock, we will inform you about it and give you an approximate date of shipment. In case the product is delayed, we will provide you with the choice to cancel your order and issue a credit for the total amount. 

We will inform you if Megatop cannot deliver orders within the expected time frames. We reserve the right to cancel orders with an extended lead time. If the order contains more than one product, we will cancel the product with an extended lead time and ship the rest. We will charge your credit card less the cost of the canceled item or void the transaction if the entire lead time is unacceptable.

Due to the vast number of items offered on our site, custom-built offers, and the current supply chain challenges, immediate stock availability is not guaranteed. If you need your item delivered urgently, please contact us.

What is the status of my order?

You can check the current status of your order by logging into Your Account and navigating to your Order Status / History page in your Account.

Awaiting Shipment

Your product is being prepared for shipment. We will email you the tracking info once the item is shipped.

Shipped

Your product has been shipped. The tracking number was sent to your email.

Partially Shipped

Your products have been partially shipped. The tracking number was sent to your email. We will update you with the tracking info for the remaining quantity once it is available.

Canceled

Your product has been canceled and will not be shipped. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact us.

Backordered

The product is on backorder. We will keep you updated on the estimated shipping date.

Return is Being Processed

Your request for the return of your product is currently being processed. We will keep you updated on the current status via phone or email.

Return Received / Refund Issued

The product has been received and inspected; the refund has been issued.

What is order verification?

To protect you from anyone using your credit or debit card against your knowledge and prevent online fraud, we conduct order verification. By limiting fraudulent transactions and verifying order information ahead of time, we can provide the best prices and superior service while maintaining the security of the ordering process. 

There may be a slight delay in processing your order while the order details are being verified. Orders with the same shipping and billing addresses are more likely to ship faster. If you decide to send your order to an address different from your billing address, we may need an extra day to verify it.

Phone confirmation is part of our order verification process. Our representative may contact you directly at your billing phone number if we need to confirm certain information for your order to be processed. If you are unavailable, we may email you or leave a message asking you to call us back as soon as possible. 

Please note that your order may be set on hold until we can contact you if we need further information or if anything does not match. If your order cannot be verified within five (5) business days, it will automatically be canceled.

We may contact your credit/debit card issuing bank to verify your identity and confirm the validity of your purchase. Our team will confirm that the billing name, billing address, and phone number are the same as what your bank has on file for you.

Can I add items to an existing order?

Unfortunately, you can’t add items to existing orders. If you want to add new items to your order, you will need to place a new order on our site.

How do I cancel my order?

Please contact us, and we will do our best to assist you with the request. Please note that Orders for special, built-to-order items cannot be canceled once they are processed. There are some special products that are not eligible for cancellation, refund, or return. Please review the order cancellation procedure here.

Does Megatop have a commercial sales or B2B division?

Yes, we understand that the needs of businesses, government organizations, and educational institutions differ from the regular consumer. Please contact us, and we will be happy to assist with quotes, special volume pricing, and access to special order items. 

How to check the order status?

We will inform you via email of all Order Status updates. The tracking number will be emailed to you once the item is shipped. Our default shipping carrier is UPS.

If you have created a Megatop account, you can check the status of your order at any time by logging into the My Account page at megatop.com. This page will display your most recent orders.

Please contact our customer service if you experience any issues with order tracking.

How do I get a price quote?

To obtain a quote, click the “Add to Quote” button on the product page for each item that you want to be included in the quote. You can also call us or email your RFQ. Quotes will be emailed to you once they've been created. You may fill out a Request for Quote form here.

How long is a quote valid?

Unless otherwise stated in Megatop’s quote, quotes are subject to change without notice at any time. The quoted price will stay applicable for fourteen (14) days if no period is specified.

How do I download the downloadable software that I have purchased?

You will receive an email with a download link, security code, and instructions as soon as your order is processed. After the download finishes, you will still need to install your software. Go to the folder or location where you saved the downloaded file, and double-click it to begin the installation.

What order information needs to be verified?

The security of our customer’s financial information is extremely important to us. Therefore, all orders are subject to address and payment verification. We reserve the right to confirm that all received information is verifiable and legitimate before processing your order. We may contact your card-issuing bank to verify that your order’s billing name, address, and phone number are the same as what your bank has on file for you. We may also need to speak with you directly over the phone to confirm that you placed the order. We will contact you by email or phone if we need further information or if anything does not match. If your order cannot be verified within five (5) business days, it will automatically be canceled. 

Why do you need to conference call my bank for verification?

Occasionally, our AVS (address verification procedure) requires us to contact your card-issuing bank to confirm that your order's billing name, address, and phone number are the same as what your bank has on file for you. Usually, we call them, and they answer our questions. However, some banks will not give out any information unless they have your permission. Sometimes, the bank will require a conference call with you on the line. If a conference call is needed, we will contact you by phone or email and ask you to contact us when you are available. Our verification team will call you and your bank when you are free to set up the conference call.

What is phone confirmation assistance?

Phone confirmation is part of our address verification process. It requires us to speak with you directly at your billing phone number. However, this is only required when we need to confirm certain information for your order to be processed. Phone confirmations are done primarily to protect you and identity theft victims from debit or credit card fraud. If you are unavailable, we will email you or leave a message asking you to call us back as soon as possible. If we cannot complete address verification within five (5) business days after your order was placed, your order will be canceled.

How long are your prices good for?

Our prices are listed on our website and are subject to change at any time without notice.

Do you accept backorders?

For items that are out of stock but are expected to be back in stock in a reasonable timeframe, we sometimes allow backorders. We accept backorders to minimize sending you back-in-stock notification emails, and instead, we just work with our suppliers to quickly get you the products you need.

We will notify you about the products in backorder and the expected shipment date. If the order is not shipped within the promised time, Megatop will notify you of the revised shipping date and allow you to cancel for a refund or accept the new shipping date. You will receive an estimate based on when the manufacturer can get the item shipped to you or our warehouses in Vermont. This is the best estimate and is subject to change.

We do not capture (collect) funds from credit or debit cards before an item is prepared for shipment. In the case of a backorder, you will not be charged until we have the item ready to be shipped to you. Please note that we do not accept PayPal for backorder purchases.

If an order cannot ship entirely, Megatop reserves the right to hold the order until all items are in stock or to send items as they become available.

Do you offer bulk discounts on volume orders?

Yes, we offer quantity or volume discounts based on specific requirements. Volume discounts may be applied on products or discounted shipping rates. Please call, email, or use the form for Quote Request. We will get back to you as quickly as possible. Benefits include volume savings, special payment terms and bulk shipping options, and live inventory information on every item requested.

Do you provide written quotes?

We do provide written quotes. Please use the Quote Request link. We will get back to you as quickly as possible.

What should I do if I have placed a duplicate order by mistake?

If you think you placed a duplicate order, please refresh the Order History page in My Account. It can take 10 minutes for a new order to show up. Find the duplicate order, and click the Cancel Order button. If you cannot cancel the order, please contact us.

If the duplicate order is shipped, please refuse delivery, and ask the shipping carrier to return the package to the Shipper. Please contact our Customer Service team for return instructions if you cannot refuse delivery. Once we receive your return, we will notify you via email and process a refund to your original payment method. Please note that shipping costs are non-refundable.

When is a handling fee charged?

Handling fees do not typically apply. However, we will charge fees for purchase quantities not meeting the product line minimum or broken cases. When applicable, a manufacturer’s minimum order amount and fees are shown on the product page and are included in the total order charge in your Shopping Cart. 

I received a Quote; how can I place the order?

If you receive a Quote and would like to proceed with the shipment, we will require a signed Proforma Invoice and payment confirmation. Our Terms & Conditions are listed on the Proforma Invoice and our payment instructions.

Can I make changes to my order?

If you want to change your order, contact the Customer Service team as soon as possible.

You cannot change your order after it is submitted (unless there is a payment or verification issue, in which case you will be allowed to fix your credit card number or address).

  • If your order has not been processed, the Customer Service team will modify it accordingly.
  • If your order has already been processed for shipment, we will try to make the changes, but there is no guarantee that the order can be changed.
  • If your order has been shipped, changes cannot be made.
Can orders be placed for non-stock products?

Yes. We list non-stock products as 'not available for immediate delivery. Once your order is placed, you should expect to hear from your salesman with an ETA.

What is alternate ship-to-address verification?

If you wish to send to an address other than your billing address, please contact your issuing bank and have your shipping destination added as an authorized alternate ship-to address in the record/memo field. We will contact your bank using the bank number you have provided to verify this information after you've placed an order. Please allow an extra day to verify any alternate ship-to address.

If you encounter any trouble when attempting to add an alternate shipping address, let the card issuer know that you are placing an online order and that the retailer must verify your personal information before shipment to eliminate the possibility of fraud. Orders with the same billing and shipping address are more likely to ship more quickly.

How to check order history & tracking?

To view your previous orders, log in to My Account and choose the Order History section.

Order History

  • Displays orders from newest to oldest with direct links to key order information like order date, products ordered, status, invoices, and packing lists.
  • Orders can be searched and viewed by type, date range, and specific date.
  • Quickly reorder purchased products or add them to your lists.
  • Access invoices and conveniently print or resend the order confirmation to your email to best serve your receiving and procurement processes.

Track your Order

  • View your order tracking and status from the order details page
  • Track order details for most parcel carriers.

Order History for Guest Checkout or Personal Accounts

  • For order history or tracking details guest and personal account users need to contact customer service for order history or tracking details.

Military Orders

We require an official Purchase Order directly from your Military Unit for military orders of restricted products. For a limited number of restricted items that are for sale to Military Personnel Only, we will need at least two of the following documents to fulfill an order:

  • email sent from a .mil address;
  • agency letterhead specifically requesting or authorizing the purchase of a said item;
  • copy of the customer's military ID (military contractor IDs are NOT accepted);
  • billing and shipping address indicates that the item will be shipped to an authorized military unit.

Law Enforcement Orders

For a limited number of restricted items that are for sale to Law Enforcement Personnel Only, we will need at least two of the following documents to fulfill an order:

  • An email sent from a Police Department email address;
  • an agency letterhead specifically requesting or authorizing the purchase of a said item;
  • a copy of the customer's law enforcement ID;
  • billing and shipping address indicating that the item will be shipped to a law enforcement department.

For Police and Law Enforcement orders of restricted products, we require an official Purchase Order directly from your Police Department.

How can I send in a Purchase Order?

If your company meets Megatop PO requirements, you may submit your purchase via email or Megatop form. To submit your PO via Megatop form:

  1. Add the item(s) to your Shopping Cart;
  2. Select the “Pay with Purchase Order” button during checkout;
  3. Complete the form.

Upon approval, we will send you an email confirmation along with tracking once the order ships.

Purchase Orders also can be sent to us at sales@megatop.com. Please provide a written and signed purchase order by emailing a PDF image or via fax. Among other standard details, the PO should include

  • Shipping and billing address
  • Shipping method*
  • Product part number(s) and quantities
  • Unit price of each item
  • Total Amount

Existing Customers

If you have been approved for Net terms, you can get started by emailing us your Purchase Order. We will promptly process and ship your items once we have verified the order information.

New Customers

A new customer's first order must be prepaid unless the customer is a public school, college, university, hospital, government agency, or established corporation.

Please complete the Megatop credit application and follow these steps:

  1. Email your Purchase Order from your business email to sales@megatop.com or fax it to (802) 243-0232.
  2. Verify that the shipping and billing addresses are correct on the PO.
  3. Reference any quotes (if applicable).

If you’d like to apply for terms but need the item sooner, please contact us. You can also place the order online with a credit card while we review your credit application.

Upon approval of the terms, we will send an email with PO Acknowledgment (Sales Order). If we have any questions, we will call before sending the Sales Order Acknowledgment.

What to check before placing an order?

Before placing an order, please make sure to read the product description and specifications.

Pay attention that a separate item may not include accessories or components like chargers, sensors, probes, etc. If you have any doubts, please ask what's included in the product. We recommend you review the data sheets and descriptions from the manufacturer's websites.

We make every effort to provide complete and accurate descriptions of our products; however, it is the customer’s responsibility to ensure product compatibility.

Please note that manufacturers may change their product content, images, and packaging before updating this information on Megatop. Please check the product page for compatibility and technical information before placing an order. If you have any doubts, you may wish to verify all specifications on the manufacturers’ websites.

How to request a quote?

To request a quote for a single item or multiple items, please follow these steps:

  1. On the product page, click "Add To Quote";
  2. Add all desired parts and quantities to your quote list;
  3. Add your Shipping Address and target date information, as necessary;
  4. Click on the "Submit Quote Request" form for processing.

Please make sure you complete all required fields so we can generate the most accurate quote. You may edit the quantity and deadline information for any item on your quote.

We will email you the quotation as soon as possible. All details and payment instructions will be provided with the quote. You may also fill out a Request for Quote form here.

How to checkout?

When you're ready to check out, click one of the checkout buttons depending on the Payment Method and provide any required details.

You will be asked to log in to your Amazon or Apple Pay account, provide your billing information to the Credit Card processor, or complete the Purchase Order form when applying for credit terms.  New customers with different billing and shipping addresses may require additional verification.

How to review and submit an order?

Please review your Order Summary and make adjustments if necessary before submitting it. When you are ready, click the “Submit Order” button. Once you place your order, we will send you an Order Confirmation email within minutes. 

This email is your sales receipt. Please check your spam or filtered mail folders or contact us for assistance if you don’t receive our email. Once your package ships, we will send you another email Shipping Acknowledgement with a tracking number. If you encounter difficulty or receive an error message at any point, please contact us for details.

Important Note: We cannot make any changes to orders once an order has been placed. However, if a mistake was made, please email us at sales@megatop.com, live chat with us, or call (888) MEG-ATOP immediately after discovering an error in the order, and we will do our best to try to assist you.

Where can I find my order number?

Your order number can be found in the Order Confirmation email you receive after placing your order. If you have a Megatop Account, please log into your account and view Order History. If you didn't receive your Order Confirmation email, check your Shopping Cart to ensure your order was submitted. You may also want to check your Spam folder for the email.

Will I receive an order confirmation?

You will receive an Order Confirmation through email. After your order has shipped, you will receive an emailed Shipping Acknowledgement showing the details. Check your Account Preferences to ensure we have your email address on file.

What are the requirements for Purchase Orders?

Purchase orders with Credit terms are accepted from public schools, colleges, universities, hospitals, government agencies, the military, law enforcement, and established corporations. Net terms offer our customers the flexibility to pay by business check, wire transfer, or ACH/EFT electronic payment up to 30 days after the product ships. 

If you do not fall under the categories listed above, we may not be able to offer credit terms for the first order, and you need to use other payment methods. However, you may reapply for credit terms again after you have established an order history with Megatop. Credit terms for businesses are granted on a case-by-case basis and are subject to credit rating review and approval. Qualifying companies can apply for Net terms online.

How do I use my Tax Exemption or Resale Certificates?

Tax-exempt customers and resellers must provide Megatop with a copy of a state resale certificate, also known as a sales tax exemption certificate, which proves that you are purchasing items for tax-exempt purposes.

The tax exemption certificate must be valid and complete. The organization or individual name and the billing or shipping address on order must match the name and address on the certificate.

Please upload your certificate at checkout. You may also email us your valid certificate at sales@megatop.com or fax it to (802) 243-0232. Please mark your fax or email subject with 'Tax Exemption Request.' Please include your name, Megatop sales order number, and contact information.

Once you provide your resale or tax-exempt certificate, it will be kept on file and used against your future orders until the certificate is expired if state laws allow this use of the certificate provided. If we keep your resale or tax-exempt certificate on file, no sales tax will be added during checkout, providing the certificate covers the ship-to-state. Make sure you are logged in to your account before purchasing.

After your documents have been processed and accepted, you will receive a refund in the amount of the tax charged. Please let us know should your tax-exempt status changes.

In some cases, when Megatop does not have nexus in the delivery state, and we drop ship an order directly from the manufacturer's warehouse, and the manufacturer is required to collect sales tax in the ship-to-state, then Megatop will also ask for a resale certificate or tax exemption from your company.

Where do you charge Sales Tax?

Megatop charges sales tax on orders shipping to a number of states where we are required to collect tax. We provide an estimated tax rate at checkout when confirming your order. The estimated tax amount may be updated to the actual amount once your order is completed.

In case Megatop collects no tax on your order, you still have an obligation to pay the tax directly when you file your state taxes. You are responsible for contacting your local tax administration regarding taxes you may owe in connection with your purchase on the Megatop website. 

The tax rate applied to your order will generally be the combined state and local rates for the address to which your order is delivered. We are required to collect tax on shipping charges when applicable. Use tax is a sales tax that state governments impose on consumers who do not pay sales tax at the time of purchase. We do not collect use tax from customers. Instead, customers pay use tax directly to the applicable state.

Items sold by Megatop that are shipped to destinations in the following states may be subject to tax:

Hawaii also does not have sales tax. However, the state does impose a general excise tax (GET) that’s similar to sales tax on every transaction.

Instead of sales tax, New Mexico has a gross receipts tax (GRT) that sellers impose on customers in the state.

The five states that do not have sales tax are

  • Alaska
  • Delaware
  • Montana
  • New Hampshire
  • Oregon

Please note that Megatop withholds sales tax as required by law; the laws are subject to change. We reserve the right to change this policy if necessary.

What are availability and lead time?

Availability and lead time may vary from item to item. Our website only provides stock information for some products. Once your order is processed, you will receive an email confirmation with your estimated ship dates. Product availability is subject to change without prior notice.

All in-stock orders for which payment has been approved are shipped within 1 to 3 business days, Monday - Friday. If your order contains special products, we will contact you with the availability estimates for those products. If the item is out of stock, we will inform you about it and give you an approximate date of shipment. In case the product is delayed, we will provide you with the choice to cancel your order and issue a credit for the total amount. 

We will inform you if Megatop cannot deliver orders within the expected time frames. We reserve the right to cancel orders with an extended lead time. If the order contains more than one product, we will cancel the product with an extended lead time and ship the rest. We will charge your credit card less the cost of the canceled item or void the transaction if the entire lead time is unacceptable.

Due to the vast number of items offered on our site, custom-built offers, and the current supply chain challenges, immediate stock availability is not guaranteed. If you need your item delivered urgently, please contact us.

What is the status of my order?

You can check the current status of your order by logging into Your Account and navigating to your Order Status / History page in your Account.

Awaiting Shipment

Your product is being prepared for shipment. We will email you the tracking info once the item is shipped.

Shipped

Your product has been shipped. The tracking number was sent to your email.

Partially Shipped

Your products have been partially shipped. The tracking number was sent to your email. We will update you with the tracking info for the remaining quantity once it is available.

Canceled

Your product has been canceled and will not be shipped. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact us.

Backordered

The product is on backorder. We will keep you updated on the estimated shipping date.

Return is Being Processed

Your request for the return of your product is currently being processed. We will keep you updated on the current status via phone or email.

Return Received / Refund Issued

The product has been received and inspected; the refund has been issued.

What is order verification?

To protect you from anyone using your credit or debit card against your knowledge and prevent online fraud, we conduct order verification. By limiting fraudulent transactions and verifying order information ahead of time, we can provide the best prices and superior service while maintaining the security of the ordering process. 

There may be a slight delay in processing your order while the order details are being verified. Orders with the same shipping and billing addresses are more likely to ship faster. If you decide to send your order to an address different from your billing address, we may need an extra day to verify it.

Phone confirmation is part of our order verification process. Our representative may contact you directly at your billing phone number if we need to confirm certain information for your order to be processed. If you are unavailable, we may email you or leave a message asking you to call us back as soon as possible. 

Please note that your order may be set on hold until we can contact you if we need further information or if anything does not match. If your order cannot be verified within five (5) business days, it will automatically be canceled.

We may contact your credit/debit card issuing bank to verify your identity and confirm the validity of your purchase. Our team will confirm that the billing name, billing address, and phone number are the same as what your bank has on file for you.

Can I add items to an existing order?

Unfortunately, you can’t add items to existing orders. If you want to add new items to your order, you will need to place a new order on our site.

How do I cancel my order?

Please contact us, and we will do our best to assist you with the request. Please note that Orders for special, built-to-order items cannot be canceled once they are processed. There are some special products that are not eligible for cancellation, refund, or return. Please review the order cancellation procedure here.

Does Megatop have a commercial sales or B2B division?

Yes, we understand that the needs of businesses, government organizations, and educational institutions differ from the regular consumer. Please contact us, and we will be happy to assist with quotes, special volume pricing, and access to special order items. 

How to check the order status?

We will inform you via email of all Order Status updates. The tracking number will be emailed to you once the item is shipped. Our default shipping carrier is UPS.

If you have created a Megatop account, you can check the status of your order at any time by logging into the My Account page at megatop.com. This page will display your most recent orders.

How do I get a price quote?

To obtain a quote, click the “Add to Quote” button on the product page for each item that you want to be included in the quote. You can also call us or email your RFQ. Quotes will be emailed to you once they've been created. You may fill out a Request for Quote form here.

How long is a quote valid?

Unless otherwise stated in Megatop’s quote, quotes are subject to change without notice at any time. The quoted price will stay applicable for fourteen (14) days if no period is specified.

How do I download the downloadable software that I have purchased?

You will receive an email with a download link, security code, and instructions as soon as your order is processed. After the download finishes, you will still need to install your software. Go to the folder or location where you saved the downloaded file, and double-click it to begin the installation.

What order information needs to be verified?

The security of our customer’s financial information is extremely important to us. Therefore, all orders are subject to address and payment verification. We reserve the right to confirm that all received information is verifiable and legitimate before processing your order. We may contact your card-issuing bank to verify that your order’s billing name, address, and phone number are the same as what your bank has on file for you. We may also need to speak with you directly over the phone to confirm that you placed the order. We will contact you by email or phone if we need further information or if anything does not match. If your order cannot be verified within five (5) business days, it will automatically be canceled. 

Why do you need to conference call my bank for verification?

Occasionally, our AVS (address verification procedure) requires us to contact your card-issuing bank to confirm that your order's billing name, address, and phone number are the same as what your bank has on file for you. Usually, we call them, and they answer our questions. However, some banks will not give out any information unless they have your permission. Sometimes, the bank will require a conference call with you on the line. If a conference call is needed, we will contact you by phone or email and ask you to contact us when you are available. Our verification team will call you and your bank when you are free to set up the conference call.

What is phone confirmation assistance?

Phone confirmation is part of our address verification process. It requires us to speak with you directly at your billing phone number. However, this is only required when we need to confirm certain information for your order to be processed. Phone confirmations are done primarily to protect you and identity theft victims from debit or credit card fraud. If you are unavailable, we will email you or leave a message asking you to call us back as soon as possible. If we cannot complete address verification within five (5) business days after your order was placed, your order will be canceled.

How long are your prices good for?

Our prices are listed on our website and are subject to change at any time without notice.

Do you accept backorders?

For items that are out of stock but are expected to be back in stock in a reasonable timeframe, we sometimes allow backorders. We accept backorders to minimize sending you back-in-stock notification emails, and instead, we just work with our suppliers to quickly get you the products you need.

We will notify you about the products in backorder and the expected shipment date. If the order is not shipped within the promised time, Megatop will notify you of the revised shipping date and allow you to cancel for a refund or accept the new shipping date. You will receive an estimate based on when the manufacturer can get the item shipped to you or our warehouses in Vermont. This is the best estimate and is subject to change.

We do not capture (collect) funds from credit or debit cards before an item is prepared for shipment. In the case of a backorder, you will not be charged until we have the item ready to be shipped to you. Please note that we do not accept PayPal for backorder purchases.

If an order cannot ship entirely, Megatop reserves the right to hold the order until all items are in stock or to send items as they become available.

Do you offer bulk discounts on volume orders?

Yes, we offer quantity or volume discounts based on specific requirements. Volume discounts may be applied on products or discounted shipping rates. Please call, email, or use the form for Quote Request. We will get back to you as quickly as possible. Benefits include volume savings, special payment terms and bulk shipping options, and live inventory information on every item requested.

Do you provide written quotes?

We do provide written quotes. Please use the Quote Request link. We will get back to you as quickly as possible.

What should I do if I have placed a duplicate order by mistake?

If you think you placed a duplicate order, please refresh the Order History page in My Account. It can take 10 minutes for a new order to show up. Find the duplicate order, and click the Cancel Order button. If you cannot cancel the order, please contact us.

If the duplicate order is shipped, please refuse delivery, and ask the shipping carrier to return the package to the Shipper. Please contact our Customer Service team for return instructions if you cannot refuse delivery. Once we receive your return, we will notify you via email and process a refund to your original payment method. Please note that shipping costs are non-refundable.

When is a handling fee charged?

Handling fees do not typically apply. However, we will charge fees for purchase quantities not meeting the product line minimum or broken cases. When applicable, a manufacturer’s minimum order amount and fees are shown on the product page and are included in the total order charge in your Shopping Cart. 

I received a Quote; how can I place the order?

If you receive a Quote and would like to proceed with the shipment, we will require a signed Proforma Invoice and payment confirmation. Our Terms & Conditions are listed on the Proforma Invoice and our payment instructions.

Can I make changes to my order?

If you want to change your order, contact the Customer Service team as soon as possible.

You cannot change your order after it is submitted (unless there is a payment or verification issue, in which case you will be allowed to fix your credit card number or address).

  • If your order has not been processed, the Customer Service team will modify it accordingly.
  • If your order has already been processed for shipment, we will try to make the changes, but there is no guarantee that the order can be changed.
  • If your order has been shipped, changes cannot be made.
Can orders be placed for non-stock products?

Yes. We list non-stock products as 'not available for immediate delivery. Once your order is placed, you should expect to hear from your salesman with an ETA.

What is alternate ship-to-address verification?

If you wish to send to an address other than your billing address, please contact your issuing bank and have your shipping destination added as an authorized alternate ship-to address in the record/memo field. We will contact your bank using the bank number you have provided to verify this information after you've placed an order. Please allow an extra day to verify any alternate ship-to address.

If you encounter any trouble when attempting to add an alternate shipping address, let the card issuer know that you are placing an online order and that the retailer must verify your personal information before shipment to eliminate the possibility of fraud. Orders with the same billing and shipping address are more likely to ship more quickly.
