Wine Refractometer - Wine Scales - Probable Alcohol Content in Grape Must & Actual Alcohol Content in Finished Wine - MISCO VINO6 Refractometer
Measure Probable Alcohol Content in grape juice or grape-must, and the actual alcohol content in finished wine, with the Palm Abbe Digital Wine-Alcohol Refractometer. This instrument will display the Probable Alcohol Content of grape juice or grape-must and the actual Alcohol by Volume and Specific Gravity of finished wine (distillation method). It will also measure the sugar content in Brix, and Sucrose content in grams/Liter, of grape must. The Palm Abbe Wine/Alcohol refractometer is ideal for vineyards and wineries where quality and the highest precision are demanded.
Features:
- The New MISCO Palm Abbe Digital Wine-Alcohol Refractometer is engineered specifically for testing the potential alcohol content of grape must, as well as the actual Alcohol by Volume in the finished wine. Measurements are made with precision comparable to mid-range bench-top refractometers costing thousands of dollars more. This is a tool that the professional winemaker simply can't afford to be without.
- The determination of the sugar content (Brix) of grape must is clearly one of the most important measurements to a winemaker. Brix is the ratio of pure sucrose in a grape must relative to the total mass of the solution. The Palm Abbe Digital Wine/Alcohol Refractometer can quickly and accurately display Brix to 0.1% and actual sugar content in grams/liter.
- It is often advantageous for the vintner to estimate the potential alcohol content of a given grape must prior to fermenting. With a sample of only one or two drops of grape-must, the Palm Abbe Wine/Alcohol Refractometer can quickly and accurately measure the predicted actual alcohol content in accordance with established international standards.
- The actual Alcohol by Volume of a particular finished wine may also be established following a distillation method recognized by international bodies. After distilling a small volume of wine, the ethanol distillate is measured on the Palm Abbe Digital Wine/Alcohol Refractometer and the actual alcoholic strength (percent by volume) or specific gravity is displayed. (NOTE: It is impossible to measure the alcohol content of wine by directly measuring finished wine on a refractometer. The wine must first be distilled and then the distillate is tested on the alcohol scale. Please see wine guide for more details).
- Protection against inaccurate readings due to temperature differences, a major concern in refractive index measurement, is assured with nonlinear temperature compensation specific to grape juices. Temperature compensation is automatic for fluids read between 0 and 50 °C (+32 to 122 °F).
- The stainless-steel sample well requires only a couple of drops of fluid to take measurements. A simple, user-friendly interface consists of two buttons: one to take readings and the other to step through various menu options. A large, dual-line, multilingual LCD display is easily read, even in dim light. Prompts and measurements may be selectively displayed in English, Spanish, French, German, or Russian.
